Tree Lot News.....

Greetings from the Tree Lot .....

(Day 2 of the Tree Lot in Cape Coral, FL.) Been here 2 days. Yesterday sucked. It's hotter than heck....If I had balls, I'd be sweatin' them off! Last night I went to bed at 7PM, if that tells you anything. I was beat. I was ornery and feeling drained. My mom and dad were getting on my nerves, I got bit a few times by fire ants and for those of you who have never had the pleasure of getting bit by a fire ant, it frickin' HURTS! So now all my bites ITCH uncontrollably, my feet hurt, cause' I've got bunions and my toe nails are way too long for the shoes that I'm wearing. NOTE TO SELF: Trim toe nails. I broke about 3 nails, which pisses me off, cause they'd finally grown to a nice sexy length prior to getting down here. Well, let me tell you, there was nothing sexy about me last night........

Today, much better. Still Hot and Humid and sweating like a pig....but we actually got done working at the lot at about 2:30-3PM. (That has never happened before.) I actually got back to our house and was able to chill at our pool. (In 8 years of tree lot, I've never put on a swim suit and chilled!) Today was heaven....by 4:30PM, I was chillin' by the pool, listening to Beyonce and Lady Gaga, enjoying a cocktail and peacefully reading in 80 degree weather. I could've peed my pants I was so happy!

Tomorrow's a different story.......we've got a long day ahead of us. By the end of the tomorrow, I anticipate being hot, sweaty, ornery again, my feet will hurt, my ankles will be swollen, my hair will be in a dishevel, my makeup will be gone due to sweat running down my face, I'll have tree sap all over me, I'll be filthy, I'll stink of BO and I'll be starving and ready to go to bed again in a big way........

.........So let me savor this moment of bliss tonight while I'm still in a good mood!

Tis the Season.....

It's that time a year again and I'll be heading to the great state of Florida in a couple of days. I leave for Cape Coral, FL this Saturday to start setting up our Christmas tree lot again this year. Our Christmas tree tent opens every year on Thanksgiving Day and we sell our Christmas trees up until a couple of days before Christmas.


So in a nutshell, beginning on Saturday, you'll be hearing from me from Florida, instead of the great state of Michigan, at least for the next 3 weeks.


I'm sure I'll have many a story to tell, just like last year. ( ................... like remember last year when I totally freaked out about being interviewed for the 10 o'clock news at our tree tent ..........and I was nervous, and I sounded like a complete moron and I looked like a complete 'hag' on national TV and I ranted and raved about it in various e-mails to you all................................and then I tried to keep the fact from my husband that I made a complete ASS out of myself and our tent on national TV because he always get down to the tree lot about 1 and 1/2 weeks after me.......and I didn't want him to know.......(NOTE TO SELF: No interviews this year).......................and then the news broadcaster actually got hit by a semi about 5 minutes after our interview in front of our tree tent?)

Oh, don't worry, in case you're not familiar with the story, the news guy ended up being alright, just shaken up a bit, believe me! Thank God he was OK.............................(Hellllloooo.........do you think I'd be telling funny stories about something that tragically happened, God No........................I hope you all know me better than that!) I wait for everything to turn out OK, and that's when I start my funnies...............................

Hmmmm....The Taste of Pumpkin Pie!

Ok, its official! I’m addicted to “Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino.”

You ask me why? WELL…..Here’s the rundown:

1.) You can only get it this time of year, by the way…..(October through December)…..it’s available at various gas stations and mini-marts around the state of Michigan. I wait anxiously for the leaves to start turning and I know the time is near for that luscious taste of Pumpkin Pie in a cup!

2.) Yes, it’s like “Pumpkin Pie” in liquid form! (Yeah, I know…….I can actually see my butt getting bigger with every sip!)

3.) Although, when I feel the need to splurge on this tasty treat, I do fill my cup half-way with pumpkin pie spice cappuccino and the other half I fill with coffee…….(I tell myself this cuts down on the calories, right?)

4.) And because of the fact that I know it’s loaded full of nasty calories, I only treat myself to one, ONCE a week. It’s my special little treat to myself!

Hey, no bad talk, girls……………I know, I know………. it doesn’t fit in my new healthy lifestyle……… but I’ve decided I’m worth it!

Blonde Joke of the Day

A guy took his blonde girlfriend to her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team's bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience..

'Oh, I really liked it,' she replied, 'especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents.'

Things I don't like today!

Things I don’t like today:
1.) Getting out of bed and almost stepping in dog crap….(evidently, Max didn’t think he needed to take it outside to do his thing last night.)
2.) People who complain.
3.) The little whiskers that are growing out of my chin, which evidently I forgot to pluck this morning. (Oh ladies, don’t think you DON'T know what I’m talking about!)
4.) People (including my friends) who think they are far busier than anyone else on this “God Given Earth”……Listen people……. (and pay attention because I’m only going to say this ONCE!) You are NOT (repeat NOT) any MORE busy in your life than anyone else….you may have different things and a lot of things going on in your life, but WE’RE ALL BUSY!!
5.) ALLERGIES! (I just sneezed and ‘wet myself’, by the way!) Should’a taken a Zyrtec!
